The 19th edition of the Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual L.E.V is back with innovative performances and installations
Gijón, Asturias Spain – May 1-5, 2025
(L.E.V.) Festival will transform Gijón into a melting pot of audiovisual innovation and performances from May 1-4, 2025. Supported by Gijón's Town Council and the Principality of Asturias, the festival promises exploration of electronic music, digital art, audiovisual and emerging technologies.

Why L.E.V. Festival is Our Most Anticipated Event
Let's be honest. L.E.V. is the wild child that not only defies the norms but revolutionises them in a world of formulaic music festivals.
We're visiting L.E.V Festival in Gijón's digital art paradise in May, and to be honest? We are eager. L.E.V. is not your typical festival. It's a dynamic event in which technology becomes pure art, music becomes visual, and each performance questions your preconceived notions about creativity. And here at Synthapix we are all about that.
Imagine a place where musician and visual artist like Ryoji Ikeda do more than just perform; they totally change the way you think about technology and music. Where every location—from the organic Jardín Botánico Atlántico to the urban Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura—becomes a canvas for auditory narrative.
Curatorial Focus
Each venue offers a unique setting that enhances the festival's diverse programming, allowing installations and performances to exist in precisely matched environments.
The festival attracts a community of artists and audiences equally invested in sonic innovation and visual experimentation, creating an atmosphere that balances intellectual curiosity with sensory immersion.

Industry Significance
As electronic music and visual arts continue to evolve and beyond its five-day program, L.E.V. maintains its position as an important incubator for artists exploring algorithmic composition, modular synthesis, and generative visuals.
The festival's influence extends through partnerships with Matadero Madrid's Artistic Residencies Center, LINK Festival, and La Noche Blanca de Oviedo, contributing to the ongoing conversation around sound, visuals, and technology in artistic expression.
L.E.V. 2025 distinguishes itself by challenging traditional festival formats. Rather than merely presenting performances, the event functions as an experimental laboratory where technological innovation meets artistic expression.
The programming deliberately explores emerging themes:
Machine learning's impact on artistic authorship
Real-time visual and sonic interactions
Algorithmic composition
Interactive digital environments
Building on 2024's Success
The 2024 edition demonstrated the festival's commitment to showcasing the work at the intersection of sound, visuals, and technology.

The 2024 performances by Noémi Büchi and RRUCCULLA demonstrated this approach, exploring the creative potential of AI systems and generative techniques. For 2025, L.E.V. continues as an essential barometer for digital art's direction, showcasing emerging practices in algorithmic composition and responsive media that will influence creative technology in the coming years.
